The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii, located on the Kohala Coast of the Island of Hawaii, offers a secluded beach, waterfall gardens and plenty of aloha spirit. Surrounding the hotel are five sacred mountains, the endless blue hues of the Pacific Ocean and some of the world’s best golf courses. In other words, paradise!

The hotel has a block of rooms set aside for CWAG meeting attendees. Call the reservation number and request the CWAG Annual Meeting room block. A variety of room locations/views are available and each room has either a king or two queen beds. The CWAG discounted room rates are also available pre and post meeting. Check-in at 3:00 pm; check-out at Noon. As Hawaii is a premier vacation destination during the summer months, we strongly encourage you to make your hotel reservations first, then your air reservations as soon as possible. The last possible day to get room reservations within the CWAG room block is June 7, 2011. Only registered CWAG attendees and their registered guests/families are allowed to reserve a room at our discounted rates.

Room Types and Rates/Additional Room Occupants/Guaranteed Reservations

The hotel has a block of rooms set aside for CWAG meeting attendees and a variety of room locations/views are available. They include rooms with two queen beds or a king-size bed and all rooms have private lanai’s. Prices range from $229/per night up to $289/night, depending on the view plus applicable state and local taxes which are currently 13.416%. Please call and speak with a reservations representative at 1.800.845.9905 to discuss your individual needs and secure your room. The Fairmont Orchid is predominately a non-smoking hotel; however they do have a limited number of smoking rooms in the Fairmont Room category.

Please note: The CWAG discounted room rates are also available pre and post meeting based on availability. The hotel asks us to place special emphasis on the 3:00 pm check in time. Due to the size of our group, it will be difficult for the hotel to accommodate early arrivals. Please plan your flight schedule accordingly. Hotel check out time is noon. The last possible day to get room reservations within the CWAG room block is Tuesday, June 7, 2011.

Please note: A deposit of one night’s room and tax will be taken when reservations are booked. All deposits for individual reservations are fully refundable if a room is cancelled up to 21 days prior to arrival date.

There is no charge for children under 18 years of age sharing the same room with their parents, however there will be an additional charge of $75 per night, plus tax for the 3rd adult in the room. The maximum number of persons per room is three adults or two adults and two children.

Amenities

CWAG guests will enjoy complimentary high speed internet access in their rooms. In addition, the Business Center is located in the Ballroom Courtyard and is open daily from 8:00a to 4:00p. Parking is available at the hotel. Self-parking is complimentary for our group or valet parking is $22 per day.

The Fitness Center is open 24-hours per day with guestroom key access and features the latest in fitness equipment with views of the expansive lawn and 10,000-square foot pool beyond. Other fitness activities offered include daily seaside yoga, meditation, Pilates, pool aerobics, art classes, and a world-class tennis pavilion. Many additional activities are complimentary including daily Hawaii Arts & Crafts and cultural hikes on the resort exploring ancient Hawaiian petroglyphs and lava shelter caves. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted in the Fitness Center at any time.

Children’s Activities/Babysitting

The Keiki Aloha Adventure is a children’s program offered at the Fairmont Orchid for Keiki (children) between the ages of 5 and 12. It is offered year round and is licensed by the State of Hawaii and all the counselors are First Aid/CPR certified. Dependent on the theme of the day, adventures may include hiking, exploring a lava tube cave, going on a Fish and Shark tour, tide pool explorations or even a Gecko Hunt!

Full day program hours are 9:00a – 4:00p and the cost is $85 per child. Lunch, snacks and beverages are included. Half day program hours are 9:00a – Noon and the cost is $65 per child. Snacks and beverages only are included. Reservations must be completed by 8:00p prior to the day your child will attend the program. To make a reservation, please call the concierge at ext. 7320.

If you will require a sitter during your stay the hotel utilizes a babysitting service called Malihini Keiki Care. Their phone number is 808.331.2909 and you should contact them directly to make arrangements and discuss any details regarding your children. Golf

Alongside the Fairmont Orchid is the award winning Francis H. I’i Brown 36-hole championship course at the Mauna Lani Resort. The course was designed to have two distinct 18-hole complexes, the south and north course, and was just recently listed as one of the 75 Best Golf Resorts.

Green Fees:

7:00a – 2:00p: $160 daily for The Fairmont Orchid hotel guests

2:00p and later: $115 daily for The Fairmont Orchid hotel guests

A golf cart is included with the green fees. Collared shirts are required and no t-shirts, tank tops or jeans allowed. You should call the Mauna Lani directly to reserve your tee time at 808.885.6655 and identify yourself as a guest at the Fairmont Orchid.

Tennis

The Fairmont Orchid also has a 10-court, full service Tennis Center and features lights for evening play. Services include racquet and ball machine rentals and private and semi-private lessons. Proper tennis attire including tennis shoes are required at all times. Running shoes are not allowed.

Meeting Start and End Dates

Sunday, July 10 – Wednesday, July 13

All CWAG meetings and activities will begin and end at the Fairmont Orchid Hotel meeting space. On-site registration and check-in will begin at 7:00am on Sunday, July 10th. All registered attendees and their registered guests and family are invited to attend the CWAG Opening Dinner which will begin at 5:30p.m. on Sunday, July 10th at Turtle Point on the Fairmont Orchid grounds. CWAG substantive sessions will be open to all attendees starting at 7:00am, Monday, July 11 and adjourning Wednesday, July 13 after the closing event.

Agenda

An agenda will session topics and times will be available from the CWAG office by April 30, 2011.

Transportation

Attendees should fly into the Kona International Airport (KOA) which is approximately 40 minutes from the Fairmont Orchid. All car rental companies are available at the airport and Dollar Rent-a-Car maintains a desk at the resort with cars available. We highly recommend that you rent a car so that you can explore the island at your leisure. Attendees will be responsible for their own transportation to and from any offsite events. Self parking is complimentary to CWAG attendees and valet parking is available at $22 or the prevailing rate per 24 hour period.

If you choose not to rent a car upon your arrival at the Kona airport, the Fairmont has preferred taxi and limousine companies that they recommend. Continuing Legal Education Credits

If you would like to receive continuing legal education credits for attendance at the CWAG Annual Meeting, please complete and return Form #2 together with the CWAG meeting registration form. CWAG will apply for and notify attendees of state accreditation of CLE credits. Accreditation amounts vary depending on each state, but a minimum of 10 general and 1.5 ethics credits is anticipated. Pre-registration discounts are available to those who register before June 16, 2011. All registration fees must be paid prior to attending the meeting. To make changes to registration information or request a refund, please submit changes in writing by email, mail or fax to CWAG. Refund requests received after July 5, 2011 will be processed after August 15, 2011 and will include a deduction of a 20% administrative processing fee.

Attire/Temperature

CWAG Meetings are entirely casual. Shorts, golf or aloha shirts would be most appropriate throughout the meeting. Some establishments have a “no jeans, no running shoes” policy and collared shirts must be worn on the golf course. Weather on all of the Hawaiian Islands is very consistent with only moderate changes in temperature throughout the year. The average high for Kona in July is 86 and the average low is 73.
